We appreciate the dedication Inland Desert Nursery has to ensure our vines are protected for planting next Spring!

Every vine has a story before it reaches the vineyard.

While many vineyards are focused on this year's crop, our team is already preparing next year's vines. This week, we're leafing our field nursery to improve airflow and light pe*******on, reduce disease pressure, and promote the development of well-matured wood. It also allows our crews to closely monitor vine health throughout the growing season.

Every pass through the nursery reflects our commitment to producing clean, healthy, true-to-type grapevines.

Because great vineyards begin long before planting day.

VARIETAL 9 REVEALED: SIEGERREBE 🍇

The ninth grape in our Know Your Varietals: Estate Series is Siegerrebe.

A cross between Madeleine Angevine and Gewürztraminer, Siegerrebe is known for its intensely aromatic wines with notes of lychee, peach, flowers, and spice.

Early ripening and well suited to cool climates, this distinctive grape has earned its place in our future estate vineyard.

Nine varietals revealed. One remains.

Next week, we reveal the final grape in our estate lineup.

The votes are in… and many of you got it right! 🍇

Varietal 8 is Riesling.

One of the world’s great white grapes, Riesling is celebrated for its bright acidity, incredible aging potential, and ability to express the place where it’s grown. Depending on how it’s made, it can range from bone dry to beautifully sweet, with flavors of citrus, green apple, peach, and delicate floral notes.

We’ll be planting Riesling as 1 of the 10 estate varietals at Hooper Winery in Spring 2027, and we can’t wait to share its journey from vine to bottle.

The answer is… Varietal 7: Pinot Noir Précoce! 🍇

A natural mutation of Pinot Noir, Précoce (French for “early”) ripens earlier than traditional Pinot Noir, making it an exciting option for cooler wine-growing regions like the Puget Sound AVA.
