Meet the CPA behind Accuracy CPA.

Fresia E. (Liza) Garcia, CPA, has more than 20 years of experience.

But if you ask her what she loves most about being a CPA, she probably won't say spreadsheets, tax returns, or reconciliations.

She loves her clients.

Her favorite part of the job is getting to know the people behind the numbers, building real relationships, and helping business owners grow.

Because to Liza, a business isn't just a set of financial statements.

It's someone's hard work, big ideas, and future.

Her one-liner?

“I love connecting with my clients and helping them grow.”

And honestly, that's what Accuracy CPA is all about.

Have you worked with Liza? Tell us what you appreciate most about her in the comments.

“No tax on overtime.”

Sounds simple.

It isn’t.

The IRS just clarified the new 2026 overtime tax deduction and there’s an important distinction:

Your overtime pay is NOT automatically tax-free.

Only certain “qualified overtime compensation” can qualify for the deduction.

The maximum deduction is:

$12,500 for eligible taxpayers
$25,000 for married couples filing jointly

Income limits apply.

And employers have a new responsibility:

Qualified overtime must be separately reported on 2026 W-2s.

If you own a business with employees working overtime, this is something your payroll and accounting team should be paying attention to NOW.

If you earn overtime, don’t assume every dollar qualifies.

The headlines are simple.

The tax rules aren't.

Workers generally may claim the overtime pay deduction only for amounts reported on Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, beginning in tax year 2026, according to updated IRS FAQs. The IRS also clarified that the deduction does not make overtime pay exempt from gross income.

**September 15 Tax Deadline Is Coming Up**

If you filed an extension for your 2025 business tax return, September 15, 2026 is an important deadline to keep in mind.

For many partnerships and S corporations, this is the extended filing deadline. If your return is still waiting on bookkeeping, K-1s, expense information, or other documents, now is the time to get those items resolved.

If you extended your 2025 return, don't wait until September to start gathering what your CPA needs.

If you have an extended return that still needs to be completed, contact our office to discuss your situation.

Got an IRS penalty notice? Don’t ignore it.

Many taxpayers immediately assume they have no options, but the IRS has several programs that may help reduce penalties.

IRS Automatic Penalty Relief, First-Time Abatement, and reasonable cause relief each have different requirements.

Before sending payment, review:
What type of penalty was assessed
Whether you qualify for relief
Whether documentation supports your situation

Understanding your options can prevent unnecessary costs.

Accuracy CPA, PLLC helps individuals and businesses navigate IRS notices, tax penalties, and compliance issues.

Some news I'm incredibly grateful to share...

I was recently nominated as one of the Top 50 Women in Accounting.

When I started my career, I wasn't focused on recognition. I simply wanted to help people, solve problems, and make a difference for my clients. More than 20 years later, that purpose hasn't changed.

Like many accountants, I've experienced the long hours, challenging deadlines, and constant changes that come with this profession. Building a career and later building Accuracy CPA has required persistence, faith, and a lot of support from those around me.

This nomination is especially meaningful because it represents the relationships I've built over the years. To my clients, thank you for trusting me with your businesses, finances, and goals. To my colleagues, mentors, friends, and family, thank you for your encouragement and support throughout this journey.

I'm proud to be part of a profession filled with talented women who continue to lead, innovate, and make an impact every day.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my story so far. I am honored by this recognition and excited for what lies ahead.

A little personal milestone I'm excited to share...

I was recently nominated as one of the Top 50 Women in Accounting.

Honestly, when I started my career over 20 years ago, I wasn't thinking about awards or recognition. I was focused on learning, serving clients well, solving problems, and doing work I could be proud of.

There have been long tax seasons, challenging client situations, countless hours of continuing education, and many moments where I questioned whether I was doing enough. That's probably something most accountants can relate to.

Being recognized in this way is truly humbling. More than anything, this nomination reflects the incredible clients who trust me with their businesses and finances, the mentors who guided me throughout my career, and the family, friends, and colleagues who have supported me along the way.

Building Accuracy CPA has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Helping business owners grow, make informed decisions, and achieve their goals is why I love what I do.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Your support means more than you know.

I'm grateful, honored, and excited for what comes next. ❤️
