Sofos Financial Partners Life Happens. Plans Change. We're Here to Help. I’m often asked what led me to become a financial planner. That moment never left me. Life happens. Plans change.

The answer begins not with numbers, but with a girl named Lacey. At just 16, Lacey had lost both of her parents—her father to a sudden heart attack, and her mother, unexpectedly, in her sleep. I had been her mother’s accountant, which meant that soon after the funeral, I was the one sitting across the table from Lacey, surrounded by legal documents and financial statements. I knew how to organize

the paperwork—but what she really needed was someone who had helped her parents prepare for the unimaginable. It was the day I realized I wanted to do more than look back at what had already happened I wanted to help people look forward. To be the one who brings clarity in the midst of chaos. That realization is what inspired me to become a Certified Financial Planner and, eventually, to launch my own firm: Sofos Financial Partners. At Sofos, we help people take control of their financial lives—whether that means building wealth, navigating transitions, or simply making sure their family is protected no matter what. We strip away the jargon, help you understand your options, and create a strategy that evolves as life does. Because to me, financial planning isn’t just about spreadsheets. It’s about making sure no one sits at that table unprepared again. We're here to help.

How much emergency savings is enough?

It depends.

For some households, 3 months may be enough. For others, 6 months creates more breathing room. If your income fluctuates or retirement is getting closer, you may want more.

The right number is not a generic rule.

It should fit your life.

It’s an uncomfortable question, but an important one: if something happened to you tomorrow, what would your family be left navigating?

The emotional weight would already be enough. Financial uncertainty shouldn’t add to it.

Protection planning doesn’t have to be complicated.

At its core, it’s making sure your family, your income, and your future can keep moving forward if life takes an unexpected turn.

A good plan creates stability before you need it.

Emergency funds aren’t just there for worst case scenarios.

They create stability when life feels uncertain. A job change. A medical issue. A home repair. A season where things simply don’t go according to plan.

Having cash set aside gives your family breathing room. It gives you options, flexibility, and a little more peace of mind when the unexpected happens.

A strong financial plan isn’t only about growth. It’s about creating stability through life’s changes too.

Most plans aren’t tested until something goes wrong.

Thinking through the risks ahead of time changes everything.

Have you thought through yours?

It’s not always about returns.

The bigger risk is what happens if income stops and the people who rely on you still need stability.

It’s easy to assume things are on track when everything looks good on paper.

But a strong plan should feel clear, not uncertain.

Do you feel confident in where you’re headed?
