Captain Semplowski, Cowboy Dave, Captain Link, and Little Captain Stink packed up their gear and journeyed into the frigid, treacherous waters of Lake East Gillespie in search of tonight’s dinner.

After battling the elements, and presumably several safety violations, they returned victorious with buffalo, white fish, shrimp, AND 25 pounds of catfish!

Apparently shrimp are native to Lake East Gillespie now. Don’t ask questions.

Tonight’s menu: Buffalo fish, white fish, shrimp, CATFISH, fries, slaw, and hush puppies!

Come hungry and help us make sure Captain Semplowski, Cowboy Dave, Captain Link, and Little Captain Stink didn’t risk hypothermia in this 98 degree heat for nothing!

See you at the fish fry! 901 Springfield Road in East G’pie, starting at 4.

Captain Link heard football season was back and got pretty excited.

We tried explaining that around here, football season involves helmets, shoulder pads, and, of course, delicious fried fish.

He just stared at us and said, “Be curious, not judgmental.”

Fair enough, Captain.

Either way, whether you call it football 🏈 or football ⚽️, there’s one thing we can all agree on:

Fried fish is delicious.

Buffalo. White fish. Shrimp. 25 pounds of catfish fritters. Fries. Slaw. Hush puppies. 4pm. 901 Springfield Road.

Remember: there is no “I” in Team, but there is in Fish.

We have two open spots for our golf tournament they won’t last long.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave soldiers who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms and communities we hold dear today.

We’re grateful to all who helped place flags, prepare our cemeteries, and coordinate memorial services for the holiday weekend. Each act may be a small gesture, but an important way to ensure our veterans are never forgotten.

From all of us at Unit 7 Fire Protection District, thank you to those who served, those who sacrificed, and to the families who carry that sacrifice every day.

Please take a moment this weekend to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

This morning, members of our station were proud to continue the Memorial Day tradition of placing flags at the graves of veterans in the Gillespie city and Catholic cemeteries in town.

We want to give a huge thank you to the Gillespie-Benld Area Ambulance Service for assisting us and helping make this possible. It’s always special to see local agencies working together to honor those who served our country.

While we do our absolute best to place a flag on every veteran’s grave, we know that occasionally we may miss someone. If you notice a veteran without a flag, please send us a message or let one of our members know so we can make it right as quickly as possible.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We are proud to honor them and are grateful to serve a community that never forgets. 🇺🇸
