Join us by bringing your broken items to be repaired or by volunteering. Repair Café is a meeting place that's all about repairing things (together).

Repair Café Silicon Valley is a volunteer-run, community service organization dedicated to encouraging the repair and reuse of goods rather than dumping them in landfills. At a Repair Café, you’ll find tools and materials to help make repairs you need on clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, kitchen appliances, toys, etc. You’ll also find expert volunteers with repair skills in all kinds of fields.

Milpitas showed up ready to repair! 🛠️

At our latest Repair Café at the Milpitas Library:

🙌 43 volunteers

Thank you to our incredible volunteers for sharing their time and skills, and to the Milpitas Library for hosting us. Together, we’re keeping usable items out of the landfill—one repair at a time!

What a day in Mountain View!

Our Repair Café at the Mountain View Senior Center on Sunday was one of our busiest yet:

👥 184 visitors
🛠️ 228 items brought in
✅ 109 fixed on the spot
🔍 26 diagnosed with next steps
⚠️ 18 could not be repaired
🔪 70 knives sharpened

That’s 135 items either repaired or diagnosed and given a path forward — plus 70 knives given a fresh edge.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, and especially to our volunteers who shared their time, tools, skills, and patience to help keep all those items in use and out of the landfill. Also, special thanks to Sharp Mom Co. for offering free knife sharpening.

Join our friends at the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation for a Sustainable Style Exchange and Mending Clinic this Saturday. Swap clothes, get things fixed, learn DIY skills, and more. (Only clothing repairs will be offered at this event, for other types of repairs check out our Mountain View event Sunday.)

From vintage electronics and small appliances to clothing, bikes, jewelry, and everything in between, our volunteers spent the day helping neighbors save money, learn new skills, and keep useful items out of the landfill.
