A QUICK NOTE FROM BEHIND THE COUNTER…

Sometimes the best customer service I can give you is simply saying “No.”

Or maybe more accurately…

“I can do that, but I really don’t think you should.”

Over the years, I’ve had plenty of customers come through the door with an idea already figured out. They know what shirt they want, what material they want their sign made from, where they want something printed, or exactly how they think their logo should be produced.

And sometimes…it’s just not going to work the way they’re picturing it.

Could I take the order anyway? Absolutely.

Could I keep my mouth shut, make exactly what was requested, collect the money and move on to the next job?

Yep.

But that’s not how I want to run my business.

Part of what you’re paying for when you work with Outta Line Designs isn’t just a shirt, hat, banner or sign.

You’re also paying for experience.

If I know a certain material isn’t going to hold up where you’re putting it, I’m going to tell you.

If your design is going to look terrible embroidered at 2 inches wide, I’m going to tell you.

If you're about to spend extra money on something that isn't going to make the finished product any better, I'm going to tell you that too.

And occasionally, that means talking myself out of a bigger sale.

I'm perfectly okay with that.

Because I would much rather have you leave here with the right product than sell you the most expensive one.

I’m not interested in making one sale and never seeing you again. I want you to come back six months from now, a year from now, or five years from now because you trust that when I recommend something, there’s a reason behind it.

So if you ever hear me say…

“I wouldn’t do it that way.”

I'm not trying to kill your idea.

I'm trying to make sure that when your idea leaves my shop, it's something we're both proud of.

Sometimes saying no really is customer service.
