A big thank you to Scott Kerley with Kerley Construction Company for sharing his 10 minute presentation with us this morning at BNI. Scott’s company has been serving our community since 1971, and it’s clear that “building community” is more than just a slogan, it’s something they truly live out every day.

Scott shared how their work goes beyond construction projects. They take pride in helping bring dreams to life while strengthening the communities where we live, work, and worship. Their commitment to service shows not only in their business but also in the way they invest their time and energy into the people around them.

Outside of his work, Scott is deeply involved in the community. He serves in leadership roles across several organizations including the Barren County Contractors Association, Barren Inc., BNI, the Kiwanis Club, and the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce. He’s also been part of initiatives like “Movies Under the Stars” and teaches personal finance classes at WKU Glasgow, helping equip others with valuable life skills.

Scott’s dedication has not gone unnoticed, earning recognition such as the 2022 BNI Executive Director’s Award and the 2024 Sybil Leamon Volunteer of the Year Award.

We are thankful to have Scott as part of our BNI chapter and appreciate the leadership, service, and heart he brings to our group and our community.

A big thank you to Dr Robert Whitlow for sharing his 10 minute presentation with us this morning at our BNI meeting. Dr Rob and his wife Cheryl started Whitlow Family Vision Centers in June of 1992 and are approaching 34 years in business this summer.

Dr Rob shared lots of helpful information about various issues that affect the eyes such as glaucoma and diabetes and how we should have regular eye checks to make sure these conditions are caught before permanent damage occurs to your vision.

One of his newest exciting technologies is Optilight Therapy which is used to stimulate and help repair the glands that produce tears. This has proven very effective to patients who are suffering from dry, red, or itchy eyes and rely on artificial drops to get by.

Outside of BNI and his eye practice, Dr. Rob takes care of a small herd of dexter cattle and over 20 beehives on his farm out in Metcalfe county.

We are so proud to have Dr. Rob as a part of our BNI group since its start in 2010 and look forward to many more years of his expertise and professionalism.

Rod shared a wealth of information about his recent projects and showcased his expertise and quality in wiring, breaker boxes, lighting, and generator installation in both residential and commercial applications.

We enjoyed getting to see the care and precision with which he and his two sons run wiring to keep breaker boxes organized and adhering to safety standards.

Many of us have used him over the years, he always shows up and gets the job done quickly and professionally. We're very privileged to have Rod Peters as a part of our BNI chapter and will always feel comfortable referring him to our friends and families.

A very big thank you to Dr Nick Starnes with Active Health Chiropractic for sharing his 10 minute presentation at our BNI meeting this morning. Nick has been a member of our group for 11 years and has brought tons of value, education, and helps us keep moving forward both physically and in our businesses.

He shared some of their specialized equipment that he, and his wife Dr. Carmen Starnes, use to adjust and treat pain and mobility issues in patients from infant to the elderly and everyone in between. They are on the cutting edge of treatment and stay educated to ensure that they are offering the very best for their patients.

Today Dr. Nick provided us with some movement exercises and tests to help determine if chiropractic care could be beneficial. It was very interesting to see our whole BNI group of 25+ members stretching our shoulders and doing squats to find our pain points.

Awesome 10 minute presentation this morning by Mike Cox with Haywood Sales and Service (even though we're pretty sure that Sandy made his PowerPoint haha...)

Mike shared about all the services they offer at Haywood Sales & Service. Whether you need your lawnmower repaired, car fixed, or to pick up some snazzy new DeWalt tools, this should be your first stop for the mechanic in town who knows it all and backs it all up with integrity.

If you or your family is driving anywhere near Barren County, then you should definitely keep the shop number 270-814-1068 in your phone. He has rescued about half of our chapter from the side of the road when things break down over the past several years.

Thank you to Karisa Peterson for a stellar 10 minute presentation at our BNI meeting this week. She shared a wealth of information about business banking and how German American Bank works around the clock to help support and protect businesses and their finances.
