We've been busy at Be Intentive getting certified and trained as part of the first Connecticut cohort of AIR Collaborative Certified Facilitators. The Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) is a newly minted State Affiliate of the Air Collaborative– a training program for individuals who will serve as facilitators to advance creative community solutions.

CT facilitators work as a cohort under the auspices of COA to facilitate workshops across the state that are community-driven and that focus on helping municipalities build their local creative economy using the AIR Collaborative strategies to achieve their goals.

A peek into this week's work.

I've been collaborating on the Summer Workshop for Teaching of African American/Black & Puerto Rican/Latino Studies at CCSU this week. It's been amazing to have worked with such a great team of educators, researchers, and practitioners including the 2020 CT Teacher of the year () and international leaders in the field. I worked specifically on demonstrating ways to weave socio-emotional learning and imagination in the classroom. I also spoke on how to highlight triumph and promise in teaching about history and community and not just injustice. I'm honored to have learned and led alongside such a diverse team.
