I donated my wedding gown before my move to this organization. If anyone knows someone who is skilled in sewing and looking for a project I recommend this organization.
Hope After Loss
Hope After Loss is a non-profit organization that supports families that lose a pregnancy or baby shortly after birth.
One outreach that we do is collecting wedding dresses to be re-purposed into bereavement gowns for babies who have passed away.
Donated wedding gowns are carefully taken apart and the fabric is used to make the tiny “angel” gowns. A small heart ornament made from the same fabric is attached to each gown. The gowns are delivered to maternity hospital all over CT. When a family loses a baby, a gown is provided to the family so that they may have something to lay their baby to rest in. They keep the ornament so they will always have something from the same fabric their baby wore.
Currently we are in need of sewers. There is a pattern to follow. If you are interested in helping out, please contact me via email or the number below.
Thank you.
