The City of Richmond, the Richmond Economic Development Authority (EDA), Thalhimer Realty Partners (TRP), and Diamond District Partners, LLC (DDP) celebrated the groundbreaking of Dōma, the first privately-financed building at the Diamond District. Over 100 attendees celebrated the milestone along with Mayor Danny Avula, Katherine Jordan and Andrew Breton (Richmond City Council), Sharon Ebert (City’s Deputy Chief Administrative Officer), Angie Rogers (EDA Executive Director), and Jason Guillot and Maritza Pechin (TRP/DDP).

The groundbreaking follows the June 30th transfer of the Phase 1A-2 property from the EDA to DDP. The Phase 1A-2 property is the portion of the larger Sports Backers Stadium parcel that DDP needed to complete the construction of three new streets and the new public greenspace that will connect and anchor Phase 1A of the Diamond District.

On Friday, July 24, twenty-three Richmond associates and nine family members came together at Thalhimer Center for our first Bed Build Day in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP). What started as a pile of lumber quickly became something much more meaningful: safe, comfortable beds for children in our community.

Volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got to work cutting lumber, sanding (and sanding some more!), assembling bed frames, and proudly branding each one with the SHP logo. By the end of the day, our team had completed 15 beds that will soon provide a good night’s sleep to Richmond-area children who currently do not have a bed of their own.

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer partnered with Ronald McDonald House Richmond during the second quarter (Q2) of 2026 through its Thalhimer Gives program, a companywide initiative dedicated to community involvement and charitable giving in the markets we serve.

Thalhimer associates donated $2,752.51 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond in the second quarter, with Thalhimer matching those contributions dollar-for-dollar, bringing the total donation to $5,505.02.

In addition, associates purchased more than $1,600 in supplies to assemble NICU Baby Packs and School-Age Activity Packs, while also donating numerous items from Ronald McDonald House Richmond’s Wish List to support families staying at the House.
