Planning a fundraiser comes with plenty of “what ifs,” and last night, one of ours became reality—a fire call came in just as we were setting up.

After responding to the call, we returned and, despite a slight delay, served funnel cakes and fried Oreos to a great crowd.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported our fundraiser. A special thank-you to the firefighters’ wives who stepped in to help throughout the evening. We truly appreciate your time and support.

We’re grateful to serve a community that continues to show up for us!

On behalf of the Glen Elder Fire Department, we would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all individuals who attended and supported us today. It was a beautiful day with moderate winds, we successfully executed our event. We appreciate the generous contributions of our sponsors, including Don Zahourek of Don's Guide Service for preparing the meat, as well as Cunningham Fiber and Mahin Insurance for their respective water donations. We also thank the Waconda Cultural Association and Glen Elder State Park for inviting us to participate. We value the support of every individual who contributed to the success of this event.

We were glad to help support this great organization in the starting stages! Excited for the future working alongside them all!

The Mitchell County Dive Team is pleased to announce that, after nearly a year of planning, our new building is officially complete.

This new 30x50 facility will greatly increase our team’s ability to respond to incidents throughout Mitchell County and the surrounding areas. Having a dedicated space for our equipment, boats, vehicles, and training resources will help improve response times and enhance our overall readiness.

Prior to this building, our team relied on borrowed garage space from the Glen Elder Fire Department, MC EMS (Cawker City Station), and Mitchell County Rural Fire District #3. As our team continued to grow, these organizations graciously provided us with the space needed to support our operations.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to these departments for their patience, support, and partnership throughout the years. Their willingness to assist our team played a vital role in helping us reach this milestone.

This new building represents a significant investment in public safety and will help ensure that the Mitchell County Dive Team is prepared to serve our communities for many years to come.
