Usually when our seasonal creek dries up, we mow the grasses to mitigate fire danger but this year, we made the decision to preserve the natural habitat for the animals, birds and insects and also to slow down erosion once the rains return

In 2017, Chris was the first person in America to purchase a Glass-to-Sand machine which grinds a bottle into sand in seconds! Since then, we have diverted over 65,000 lbs of glass bottles from going into the land fill where they can take up to 100 years to break down. We use the sand on the vineyard to fill holes, shore up the edges of the roadway and for landscaping. A big thank you to all our local w**e club members who drop off their empty bottles for us to gring up!

It never gets old to check the game camera in the morning and see what animals are in the vineyard at night. This bobcat certainly looks nice and healthy!

On the final day of the 2026 harvest, Chris reflects on the excellent quality and how tired his arms are!

We're experiencing an extended heat wave of 12 days between 90-100 so all the animals in the vineyard are extra thirsty. We have 10 water stations but decided to add a few more so they don't have to go far to get a drink. It's normal in Sonoma to be this hot in Oct but usually it only lasts 3 days. This heat wave isn't supposed to break until Saturday!!

The Fall W**e Club goes live Monday and we're super excited about our new website which launched last week! We also have new W**e Club software so you will need to create a new log in but if you have any issues, just phone or email us your order and we'll take care of it this end. Cheers!

Many people think Pinot Noir is a hard grape to grow but it's got nothing on Zinfandel! This typical bunch has all 4 stages of ripeness when we harvested: green berries that aren't fertilized, unripe berries, ripe berries and raisins! Chris picks Zinfandel earlier than most for a food friendly w**e with raspberry fruit and alcohol levels under 14.5%. If he picked later, the w**e would have more raisin or jammy flavors and alcohol levels above 15% which isn't the house style. We love it with anything tomato based like pasta or pizza or grilled foods!

All fruit for the 2026 harvest is in! Huge shout out to Crisantos for his amazing work not only in the vineyard but also in the cellar! Great job! 👏

The w**e has finished fermentation and now it's time to go to barrel...but which barrel?
