When I was growing up I was always told tools were not toys. Now as an adult I refer to these as big boy toys. Tools and toys alike need to be handled with care and respect to make dreams come true. Dreams can be anything from fixing a car to moving dirt in a sandbox.

These are just a couple of examples of the toys I have gotten to add to this years invoices. Now unfortunately Decksters number has stalled since his motor blew in July; but both him and Bedty can hold their light bars high for their efforts.

If you haven’t caught what I am hinting at yet, I suppose it is time to clear things up. This weekend celebrates the 3rd anniversary of my first tow as an owner/operator. It has been a strange year of stress/ relief. We are busier than ever; and likely even more so when Deckster is feeling better. For the stress to keep up with demand, I am grateful. The relief is I am not afraid of bills getting paid. I can also finally begin giving back to my supporters and those who need support.

Now to tie the toy part into this celebration. I think this anniversary is a good time to give away a Ferree Towing Tonka Tow Truck.

While always a bit stressful to watch the group in front of me, the spectators along both sides, and drive while throwing ducks; it is always fun to participate in the local parades. Today Bedty, our neighbor John, and I joined in the fun at the New Freedom End of Summer Bash (rescheduled from the 4th of July) by showing off a 1972 VW Beetle. Thank you New Freedom for hosting us today. 😇

🔆Bonus fact: my first tow as an independent operator was a VW Bug. 🐞

Whether helping a neighbor in need or a regular customer with a knack for buying and selling; Bedty goes to work. The question I keep getting asked is will I actually repaint the red/white/blue on the bed back to black after the parade Saturday? Truth be told I am still not sure. I personally like the black and this paint job as a special occasion. Though with all the comments about it, maybe it should stay. The good news is that even though I am conflicted, nothing has to change until the timing feels right. 🪻

Kind of a strange day yesterday. Started off with a visit to Deckster to drop off some parts and pickup some tools. Then we headed to a 1979 F250 Ranger that we helped originally back in 2024. He began some front suspension work but had to get it to a shop to finish the work. No front suspension or wheels made it kind of interesting but everything went well and we delivered safe and sound. The rest of the day was not quite as smooth but again, I am thankful for all our supporters. I cannot be more grateful for the good days without a rough one every now and then. 🙏

Well after a long time of trying to get a photo-op with my friends, I have finally decided to lift them up in a different way.

Heaton’s Towing based in York (Emingsville/Manchester) and I connected for the first time about a year ago when a big snow storm had me placed out of service. They were one of my referrals for folks who called for help since I could not help them myself.

Since then we have passed a couple of times on the road; waving as we go of course, and they have even provided traffic blocking support while I loaded a car alongside Route 30.

They are a good crew and I didn’t want to wait any longer to tell them I appreciate them. (Even if I could not snag a sneaky photo with Bedty/Deckster and one of their team.)

Hay!! Good news. Deckster motor has been ordered. It will take about two weeks until it is delivered and then a couple weeks to do the swap. Not to mention a well earned break for the Shue Crew wedding that is rapidly approaching. Probably late September return for our big buddy. Yay progress!
