With the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic affecting all aspects of our lives, there is an opportunity for you and your business to spread a little love. Whether your business is doing well, or if things have gotten a little thorny, consider volunteering your services.

Not only will volunteering your services make you feel useful, you will be building relationships you want your business to have (not to mention you might make someone smile!). Reach out to non-profits, organizations, and businesses you want to work with and offer a service for free, or even a swap. This is a great opportunity for networking, and will help you continue building your portfolio or honing your skills.

Everyone needs help now. This isn’t just happening to you; it’s happening to everyone. Take this time to do some good for others and do some good for your business as well. 💕

What does your business look like once the economy begins to establish a new normal?

What if your services or products aren’t selling?

Do your clients want something different from you in a post-pandemic world?

How can you deliver value to your clients now that so many things have changed?

What is going to set you apart from your competitors?

Will you need funding to recover?

Thinking through some of these questions now can help you be better prepared to face what is ahead and recover as quickly as possible. This is uncharted territory, and it will be important that you remain flexible and go where the momentum takes you. Being an entrepreneur and business owner isn’t easy, especially now, but you can do it! 😃

Everyone has been affected in some way by COVID-19. While some individuals and businesses have been hit harder than others, it’s important to remember that with these challenges can come opportunities.

You may have a lot of extra time on your hands now. Use this time to do a deep dive into your business, processes, website, do a review of your branding, or use this time to learn new skills. This time of reflection can help reset your priorities and set you up to come out of this pandemic better than ever.

It’s easy to get discouraged, but don’t give up! Believe in yourself, keep working hard, maybe do things a little differently, and we’ll all get through this!

Starting April 10, self-employed individuals and independent contractors can apply for the Payroll Protection Program through an SBA lender. PPP loans are available for 2.5 times your average monthly payroll, with all or part of the loan being forgiven if you keep all employees on payroll, and if you limit non-payroll expenses to 25% of the loan amount. PPP loans can be used for payroll costs, rent, and utilities. It’s unclear how long the process will take, however, the sooner you’re able to get started on the process the better!

During this time of economic turmoil, the government has made loan options available to help business owners maintain their employees and give them capital to keep their businesses running. These loans are now easier to apply for, and available to more types of businesses. One option is the Economic Injury Disaster Advance Loan, which is maintained by the SBA (Small Business Administration).

The Economic Injury Disaster Advance Loan includes an advance of $10,000, which can help provide your business with economic relief if you are experiencing a loss of revenue. The loan advance will not have to be repaid.

If you think this loan is a good option for you and your business, you can apply for the loan advance here: https://covid19relief.sba.gov/ #/
