How to spot a locksmith scam before they show up.
I asked this customer for a photo of his lock. Gave him a flat price on the spot. Told him it could be picked, no drilling needed. He said go ahead, sent his address, I was there in under 30 minutes.
That’s the whole job. No surprises, no upsell, no “actually it’s $500 now.”
Here’s the scam version: they quote you “$29 and up” on the phone, which means nothing. You get flooded with calls from different “locksmiths” all quoting different prices. They show up, tell you it has to be drilled (it usually doesn’t), and hit you with $500, sometimes $900+. Then you never hear from them again.
A company that gives you a real price before they touch your door is worth more than anything they’d charge you. LocksmithScam LockedOutOfMyHouse FamilyOwnedBusiness
