The Virginia Doula What is a Doula? A doula is a greek word for a woman that serves. The postpartum phase is a sacred time for a new family.

It has been adapted to mean a woman who gives emotional, physical, spiritual and educational support to a woman and her partner/family before during and after labor. I would like to be there as your postpartum doula to ensure that you have the confidence, support, energy and additional knowledge to nuture your child. My professional expertise, real-life experiences from ongoing training and perspe

ctive from the numerous families I have supported will help you and your family during this transition. I will empower you during your journey as a new parent(s) to trust your instincts and make informed decisions while you are healing peacefully in your home and adjusting to this new and exciting change. As your doula I will create a positive experience filled with nourishment, love and respect for your entire family!
