The Great Marsh has long attracted artists who seek to use this wonderful and wondrous natural feature as inspiration. The Fund for Great Marsh Artists, in memory of Dr. Kathleen Van Demark, will award seven artists selected by an esteemed panel of jurors the opportunity to create work and public programming inspired by an immersive experience of this natural wonder.

ADC’s commitment to the ideal of art is underscored by the choice of Manship (1885-1966) to design the Art Directors Club's first award medal. He had a strong personal style with elements of both the realist academicians and the avant-garde.
