We are looking for more businesses to register for Career Con Presented by GlobalFoundries on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at SUNY Fulton-Montgomery Community College! We are thrilled to partner with you to give local 8th and 9th-grade students a hands-on look at potential career paths.
Here are important updates on the schedule and tips to prepare for the day:
Event Day Schedule
• 7:30 AM: Booth Setup Begins (FMCC Gymnasium or Outside)
• 8:45 AM – 1:15 PM: Event Hours
o Session 1: 8:52 AM – 10:00 AM
o Session 2: 10:25 AM – 11:33 AM
o Session 3: 12:00 PM – 1:07 PM
• Post-Event: Lunch provided by HFM CTE Culinary Arts students
Session Structure & Booth Tips
Each main session window is split into four 15-minute rotation blocks, allowing student groups to freely explore and visit tables throughout the area.
To maximize student engagement:
• Keep Pitches Short: Deliver a brief 1- to 3-minute elevator pitch about your field.
• Make It Interactive: Bring hands-on activities, quick visual displays, simulators, or games to give students an active experience as they visit your table.

The Fulton County Center for Regional Growth is proud to work alongside the City of Johnstown and Five Corners Development to bring a transformative $30 million, 65-unit senior housing complex to the community.

Located right next door to both the Johnstown Senior Center and the Johnstown Community Center, this 3-story development is designed to build a true, supportive hub for local seniors.

As our team continuously works to expand quality housing opportunities across the board, this project addresses a critical regional need while revitalizing underutilized land and brownfield property.

Johnstown officials and private developers are planning a $30 million, 64-unit senior housing complex meant to create a hub for seniors in the city.

Building Downtown and Supporting Our Seniors

At the Fulton County Center for Regional Growth (CRG), we know that strong economic development begins with a strong foundation. That means having diverse, high-quality housing for every stage of life.

Housing, including senior housing, is a vital driver of economic growth. Expanding residential options in our urban core does far more than provide shelter:

* Drives Foot Traffic & Local Commerce: Residents living downtown support our local small businesses, coffee shops, and restaurants daily.

* Allows Older Adults to Age in Place: Affordable senior housing gives longtime residents safe, modern choices to stay rooted in the community they love.

* Frees Up Local Housing Stock: When seniors transition into dedicated communities, traditional single-family homes open up for young families and workers entering our local workforce.

A primary example of this vision in action is Estee Phase III (Estee Senior Apartments), developed in partnership with Liberty Affordable Housing Inc. To make this transformative $9 million project a reality, the CRG sold the property and helped facilitate financing, paving the way to turn a long-vacant site into 37 modern, energy-efficient units for adults 55 and older.

Located at 90 N. Main Street, the complex mirrors the architectural charm of the historic former school building while offering full accessibility, a community center, and easy walking access to downtown amenities.

By facilitating strategic property transactions and grant alignment, the CRG continues to turn underutilized sites into thriving residential spaces that power Gloversville’s ongoing revitalization.
