SP Consultants LLC was officially acquired as shown below. I will be deactivating this page and turning everything off.

It is so true that when one door closes, often a new and even bigger door opens. Thank you Universe!

If I could create the perfect role for myself, and the perfect team to join, and the perfect company to make it all happen with, Quantum Performance Partners is it. I am ready to help Dr. Sean Saunders, DCS, CPSM and Seth Weiss take it to the next level, and beyond. This is truly a fantastic team and I'm honored to be chosen as part of the next chapter.

This venture is truly transformative and we're already creating positive outcomes in the marketplace. I am so looking forward to carrying the torch, telling the QPP story and sharing our positive impact with people and their businesses everywhere.

The breadth of our capabilities spans all aspects of business, and is a perfect fit for what I have been about for decades. Now, the ability to share that not only Nationwide, but across the globe is a huge opportunity.

Stay tuned! This is going to be something fantastic.

We’re excited to share some big news from Quantum Performance Partners before the year ends.

Quantum has acquired SP Consultants, LLC, a Colorado-based consulting firm led by long-time advisor Sean Plumb. As part of the acquisition, Sean has joined Quantum as a Managing Director. Terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.

Sean is known by his clients as a “Swiss Army Knife” of connecting and a “MacGyver” of relationship building. He’s spent his career helping small and middle market companies grow, manage risk, and unlock capital access – from complex commercial and real estate financings to FX risk management, banking consolidations, and early-stage exit planning.

“What stands out about Sean isn’t just his creativity, it’s his pattern recognition,” said Dr. Sean Saunders, Founder and Managing Partner of Quantum. “He sees how risk, people, and money fit together in an owner’s world, then designs solutions they can actually execute. That blend of technical depth, creativity, and trust-building is exactly what our clients need as we expand Quantum’s footprint in the lower middle market.”

At Quantum, Sean Plumb will focus on helping founders and CEOs design and execute growth, financing, and exit strategies that integrate M&A, capital access, and practical, hands-on operating support. His background across commercial banking, investments, and institutional client service deepens our ability to help clients manage complexity while creating long-term enterprise value.

“Sean brings something rare: he can sit with an owner, understand the story behind the numbers, and then engineer a path forward that works in the real world,” said Seth Weiss, Managing Partner. “He strengthens our ability to tackle messy capital structures, cash flow challenges, and growth plans that don’t fit a template. We’re thrilled he chose to build the next chapter of his career at Quantum.”

Please join us in welcoming Sean Plumb to Quantum Performance Partners. We’re excited to keep expanding how we support lower middle market companies.

I usually do the fun personal stuff on FB, but here’s something a little bit fun and a little bit work. I am really blessed to work with such a great team. And we have serious fun helping clients with serious SBA financing. So much so we won an award recently, as the top Small Bank lender. Happy Friday everyone.

Big shout out to Nastri of Home and Office for making our home safer, with a camera doorbell. It can get a picture of people on your porch that maybe should go to jail. 😂

Looking back at '22 and forward to '23, and a little ski down-time I am reminded of what's important. I just had a great conversation with Dave Johnson, co-founder of C Squared (https://c2solves.com) and he reminded me, when he said "Our team is different because they wake up in the morning and ask how they can make a difference today.", that making a difference in the lives around you is what it's all about. This year, that is my goal: to make a difference for those I serve. I'd be honored to serve those that take a few minutes to read this little missive!

ERTC is something many businesses are now re-looking at. The former rules were that a business had to have a downturn. Now there's a number of factors that could qualify your business, like:
- Change in business hours
- Partial or full suspension of operations
- Reduction in services offered
- Reduction in workforce
- Disruption in departments/divisions
- Suppliers were unable to make deliveries of critical goods or materials
- Change in job roles/functions
- Tasks couldn’t be done from home
- Lack of travel
- Lack of group meetings

Do any of these sound familiar? If so, please reach out and I'd be happy to connect you with an expert solution provider like Kelly Seriano. I've worked with her on several solutions and she's very client focused.

Well here we are at the start of a new year. With all the news out there about incursions and hacks, here's a little something HR professionals and business owners may want to poll their staff about. If they could get protection, and the employer could use tax credits to provide it, what portion of the staff would opt in. Here's a simple Questionaire. Feel free to share.

Five Security Questions

At the beginning of every new year, we invite human resources professionals and small business owners to send these (5) questions out to their people for their response.

If you could enroll for the following services for under $2 a day, or get them at no cost, would you?

1) Would you want to update your Will, Living Will, Financial Power of Attorney, and Children's Guardianship, without spending $1200 or more? yes__

2) If you could touch an app on your phone and have an experienced local attorney, call back within a few hours to help you make a better decision about a personal or family matters, and not get a bill afterward, would you want to? yes__

3) Would it be worth $2 or less per day to have traffic court attorney representation (including teen drivers) anywhere in the USA to keep your auto insurance from going up? yes__

4) If you could have a top local law firm write a letter or review a contract on your behalf to avoid being taken advantage of, would you? yes __

5) Would you want to have your identity (including your children) and devices protected from identity theft fraud anywhere you go 24/7-365 for under $2 a day? yes __

Thank you for answering these questions and returning your response to human resources or management.

Closing the year with some deep gratitude. Thanks to all the people and companies who sponsored, donated, volunteered and supported the Applewood Community Foundation's 2nd Annual Max Plumb Memorial Golf Tournament. We raised over $28,000. A portion, $8,000 was disbursed to several local charities and project in Applewood. We're very proud of the $20,000 that went to the Jefferson Center For Mental Health. Of that, $2,500 went to help fund a full-time counselor at Wheat Ridge HS. The other $17,500 went to the Max Plumb Scholarship Fund at the Recovery Center at Jefferson Hills.

That fund helps fund basic human needs like clothes and hygiene, as well as recovery therapy items like art supplies and books and such. Also, the residents are supplied with backpacks and some basic items when they leave. Our "Big Check" picture is taken by the book and supplies corner. And the three calendar pic I have below are a few examples of the Recovery Art some residents have done while at the center. Also, the Thank You notes show how much this has meant to them.

Our next tournament is 8/21/23 and the Rolling Hills Foundation is joining the ACF in co-hosting the tournament. We expect a sell-out for sure. And the ACF is so happy to be included in the RHF Gala 8/19/23.

With much gratitude for all that made this possible.

The advantage of a 125 Plan is these voluntary benefits can help attract and retain employees, while keeping their take home pay equal to or higher than without a 125 Plan in place. With that in mind here's the top 5 from SHRM:

Let's all try to support at least one local small business today, National Small Business Day. I have two in mind that I want to visit, that are places to get that little special something that is unique, probably handmade and probably done by a local.
