On Tuesday, March 3, the newest Artspace in Colorado is having an open house. Located in the Colorado Springs Downtown Creative District, the project is designed to support artists, graduate students, and creative workers while strengthening the cultural vitality of the District as a whole. Artspaces provide affordable multifamily live/work housing and commercial space for retail and galleries, making them one of the most exciting initiatives supporting Colorado’s creative communities and enhancing economic vitality in towns and cities across the state.

Artspace Projects, Inc. has a team with a winning track record and partnered with many entities, including dovetail solutions' client and general contractor Bryan Construction on this project.

The Colorado towns of Trinidad, Ridgeway and Loveland have successful Artspaces and have proven that it takes a village of funders, visionaries and leaders to make these projects successful. Artspace Colorado Springs grew out of a grassroots effort led by the Colorado Springs Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to create a permanent home for the city’s creative community. This is a model of true collaborative partnerships. Bravo to the whole team who helped to make it happen!

For the past 7 years, the Posner Center for International Development has held a special place in my heart. From its infancy and co-founding by friend and former colleague, it has been a gathering place for those who have a passion for helping and inspiring others and sharing resources. From hosting events for Biennial of the Americas, to celebrations and workshops where I have met new friends and enjoyed conversations with long-time friends and former colleagues.

The Posner Center is in jeopardy of closing its space in 2021. In a town hall meeting yesterday, we learned from the Posner staff how we can all help ensure the Posner Center comes through the pandemic and remains a strong, vibrant community.

1. Financial Contributions: Even though you support the Posner Center in so many ways, please consider investing financially in the Posner Center at this critical time by joining our monthly giving program. Ask your friends, neighbors and family to join you! posnercenter.giv.sh/cc96

I was introduced to two organizations Denver Food Rescue UPDIG (and its UPDIG Farm + Pop.up Grocer) today and have learned so much. I was at CreativeMornings/Denver this morning to hear Christine Alford of Denver Food Rescue and then was introduced to Andrew Vermouth of UPDIG. It is great to see so many organizations in Colorado that are working on many different solutions to curb hunger, manage waste, maximize resources and highlight nutrition.
