Most people assume that counselors have it all together and are ‘perfect’ because of the time, effort and commitment we put into our field and our clients…

But truth is, many of us have endured traumatic experiences that we decided to conquer in a positive manner and those experiences along with the effectiveness of the process we used to overcome, is how we choose to pursue each new client in treatment.

It’s not about being black and white from textbooks, but it’s life experiences along with those textbooks, interactions between our other colleagues and pouring from what we know works that make us so special!

We’re the literal definition of BALANCE because we understand the importance of separation from the professional version of ourselves to the individual version of ourselves. That’s KEY for us and we appreciate when we aren’t seen as everyone’s ‘fixers’ outside of navigating through our profession.

I love being a counselor and all of my colleagues do as well!!
