Goodfellow Fire & Emergency Services is proud to announce the selection of Alan Hebert as our next Deputy Fire Chief!

Alan’s selection represents 25 years of service at Goodfellow, rising through the ranks from Firefighter to Lieutenant, Captain, Health & Safety Officer, Prevention Chief, and now Deputy Fire Chief.

There is tremendous value in leaders who have worked their way through the ranks. They understand the job because they’ve done the job. They know the challenges our firefighters face, the responsibility of leading crews, and what it takes to serve at every level of the department.

Alan brings 25 years of experience, institutional knowledge, and leadership to this position, and we’re proud to see one of our own take this next step.

Junior Firefighter Camp 2026 — A Week We’ll Never Forget! 🔥🚒

What an incredible week it was! Our operational and prevention teams poured their hearts into creating dynamic classes, hands-on practical sessions, and realistic drills that challenged and inspired every camper.

A huge thank you to all our Junior Firefighters for showing up with such positive attitudes and unstoppable eagerness to learn. You made this camp truly special!

We have no doubt that some of these outstanding kids will one day be out there protecting their communities — just like we’re proud to do every day.

No matter the situation, you can bet we’re training for it!

Here are some intense action shots from our recent base Tornado exercise. Our firefighters are shown stabilizing the vehicle, performing high-risk rescues, and operating under simulated extreme conditions—just like they would in a real tornado scenario.

From swift patient extrication and coordinating rapid response tactics, every move is practiced to perfection. These drills ensure our team is ready to protect lives and property when Mother Nature throws her worst at us.

Huge respect to all of our GAFB teams that helped make this a very successful exercise.
