Here at KE, our apprenticeship program builds skills that work in the real world.

Last week some of KE's Level 1 & 2 apprentices took what they have learned in the classroom and put it into practice through hands-on Practical Applications. Our apprentices installed a complete branch circuit system that simulated real-world electrical work. They gained experience with conduit bending, load centers, lighting and receptacle circuits, GFCI protection, conductor sizing and more.

Through the KE Trades Academy our apprentices learn, practice and apply the skills that will carry them throughout their careers.

Proud to see our VP of Risk & Safety, Jake Wenmark, sharing his perspective on what really makes safety programs work. Relationships and trust, not just compliance.

Get comfortable being uncomfortable.

After 13 years in policing, Jake Wenmark moved into safety. Today, he is Vice President of Risk & Safety at Knobelsdorff - KE, helping protect hundreds of field workers in high-hazard environments.

One of his biggest lessons is not about regulations or compliance.
It is about relationships.

Technical knowledge matters, but it means little if safety professionals cannot communicate, build trust, and listen to the people doing the work.

Safety programs are more effective when they are built with field teams, rather than handed down from an “ivory tower.”

Jake’s advice for safety leaders:

Stay curious. Check your ego. Challenge the way things have always been done. Do not undersell what you are capable of.

Growth begins when you are willing to step into situations where you do not already have all the answers.

What is one uncomfortable lesson that made you a better safety leader? Share it in the comments. Your experience may be exactly what another leader needs to hear.

KE’s Energy Division continues to strengthen the team behind project ex*****on.

Aaron Renner, Sam Weston, Chad Boyce, and Bennett Handrick bring experience spanning utility-scale solar, wind, industrial EPC construction, field operations, logistics, project management, and portfolio oversight. Their backgrounds include leading large project teams, managing complex schedules, and coordinating field operations to keep projects moving forward. That experience adds another layer of strength to KE’s growing Energy team.

Strong ex*****on isn’t just about adding people - it’s about adding the right ones. As KE takes on increasingly complex utility-scale, distributed generation, and BESS projects, that depth matters more than ever. Leaders who understand both the field and the demands of project delivery help KE anticipate challenges, keep teams aligned, and deliver for our clients from planning through closeout.

Swipe through to meet Aaron, Sam, Chad, and Bennett.

A Friday well spent!

The KE crew and their families came together for an evening of good food, good fun, and even better company - co****le tournaments, a bounce house, face painting, and everything in between. It was a great reminder of what makes this team special.

Thanks to everyone who came out to make it a great one - see you at the next one!
