Join our team in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin! Goodman Veneer & Lumber Co., a division of Besse Forest Products Group, has an opening for a self-directed Industrial Maintenance Technician at our facility in Goodman, Wisconsin.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Preventative maintenance
Electrical systems installation, diagnosis and repair
Fabrication
Industrial maintenance repair
Lock out/tag out
Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straight edges
Align and balance new equipment after installation
Assemble boilers at installation sites, using tools such as levels, plumb bobs, hammers, torches, or other hand tools
Clean and/or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and/or parts catalogs, as necessary
Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and/or power tools
Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers
Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions
Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams
Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, or tools
Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices
3 years maintenance experience preferred
We are looking for a qualified and motivated individual with the combination of training and experience to help provide a safe work environment while maintaining the smooth operation of the mill. Qualified candidates should have experience with industrial maintenance, industrial electrical systems, welding, electrical hydraulics, and pneumatics; should also possess strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting abilities for this position.
