Virginia wine grape growers faced a challenging season characterized by icy frosts and record heat. Those hardships may have heightened grape quality this season, though it's hard to know for sure until it's tasted in a glass. 🍇🍷

It was a beautiful morning for picking grapes with awesome people! 21 brave souls came out with the sunrise and helped us bring in over 3000 lbs of Chardonel, then a bunch of them stuck around to help us weigh and crush them. While it's significantly less grapes than last year, we're extra grateful for our volunteers and that we had grapes to harvest after the double whammy of a late frost and the long drought.

Tomorrow we press, then fermenting starts, then only 4 more varietals to go!

Happy (almost) weekend! Just have to make it through three more days of work before the fun begins.

Come out Friday night for your favorites oldies sung by Ron Downing from 4:30-7:30.

Saturday Chris Hammock creates a great atmosphere to relax and unwind playing music with a mellow, acoustic feel from 2-5.

Plus if you're a morning person, you can find Genny at the Bedford VA Farmers Market from 8-12. Don't forget to send your requests over, she'll bring your favorites if you only ask!

Both our Presidential White and 2024 Traminette are down to the last two cases, so stop by and get them while you can.

Of course, we have plans in place for new wines- our slightly drier but still delightfully floral 2025 Traminette is ready to go and in place of Presidential we'll be bringing up an off dry VA Riesling with notes of apple & citrus blossom.

Rebec Vineyards Labor Day Wine & Music Festival in Amherst

Both festivals are 12-6, with live music, food trucks, and other neat stuff. We love taking the wine on field trips!
