A new piece of equipment can bring in more revenue, but it also comes with loan payments, maintenance, training, and supplies.

Before investing in new equipment, it's worth understanding how many treatments it needs to perform to cover its costs and contribute to profit.

That's not a marketing question. It's a numbers question.

More jobs doesn’t always mean more profit.

Travel time, vehicle costs, payroll, rework, and underpriced labor can eat through margins fast even when the schedule is full.

That’s why being busy and being profitable are two different things.

A lot of businesses price labor based on hourly wages without factoring in everything else tied to running a crew.

Payroll taxes, benefits, vehicle costs, travel time, and overhead all affect the real cost of labor.

That’s where margins can start getting tighter than expected even when revenue looks good.

Cash doesn’t usually disappear overnight.

There’s a reason behind it. Margins start shrinking, money starts going out faster than it’s coming in, or spending keeps growing without seeing the impact yet.

Most of the time you can see it coming early enough to make changes before it becomes a bigger problem.

Looking for a bookkeeper? Here’s what you want to know.

Can I fix messy books?
Yes. That’s usually where we start.

Will your numbers be accurate and up to date?
Yes. If you can’t rely on your numbers, it’s hard to make decisions.

Do I know what I’m doing?
Yes. You can check my Google reviews to see what working with me is like.

What does it look like to work together?
I clean things up, get everything current, then handle your books each month.

What do you get out of it?
Clear numbers you can use, help staying compliant, and fewer surprises with taxes, cash flow, or things being off behind the scenes.

If you want more insight into your numbers, I can help with that too.

How do you get started?
Go to my website and we’ll set up a call to talk through what’s going on and see if it makes sense to move forward.

Looking back doesn’t fix what’s coming.

Most businesses spend time reviewing what already happened. Revenue, expenses, last month, last year. That’s fine, but it doesn’t change what’s about to hit your cash or your margins.

If you’re not looking ahead at what’s coming in, what’s going out, and what decisions need to be made, you’re still reacting. Just with better reports.

The numbers are there. It’s what you do with them next that matters.

You can have everything entered and still be off.

Reconciliation is the step that actually ties it back to the bank.

Until that’s done, you don’t really know if it’s right.

QuickBooks shows one balance and your bank shows another.

That usually means something hasn’t been fully reconciled. Until that’s cleaned up, the difference isn’t going to make much sense.

That’s why I always start there. If it’s not reconciled, you’re looking at numbers that don’t really reflect what’s actually going on.
