We are aware of smoke being reported across majority of Hood County.

At this time, the smoke is primarily the result of active fires in neighboring counties, including the . Hood County has also experienced a few isolated fires recently, but those incidents have been contained and extinguished by local fire departments.

🔥 There is currently no active wildfire incidents in Hood County as of 11:00am. Please remain tuned into Hood County Emergency Management and Everbridge notifications for any updates that concern public safety.

Our local departments remain vigilant and continue to monitor conditions closely. Firefighters throughout Hood County are prepared to respond should conditions change.

We ask residents to remain aware of their surroundings, avoid outdoor burning, and rely on official information from local fire and emergency management agencies rather than social media speculation.

SUPPORTING ONE OF OUR OWN

Palo Pinto County ESD No. 1 and Sacred Cross EMS are coming together to support one of our first responders following the unimaginable tragedy in Parker County Monday night.

For the past eight years, he has served with Sacred Cross EMS, dedicating himself to caring for others and providing emergency medical services to the communities we serve.

Now, it is our turn to take care of one of our own.

Since news of this tragedy became public, we have received an overwhelming outpouring of concern from our community, fellow first responders and public safety agencies asking how they can help.

Sacred Cross EMS and Palo Pinto County ESD No. 1 are working with local media to establish an official benevolent fund to support him as he navigates the difficult days and months ahead.

We will share verified donation information as soon as arrangements are finalized. Until then, we ask those wishing to contribute to please wait for information shared through our official channels.

Our priority remains surrounding our first responder with the support he needs while protecting his privacy. We respectfully ask our community and members of the media to continue honoring that privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out, offered assistance and kept him in your thoughts and prayers.

‼️HOOD COUNTY’S NEXT GENERATION OF FIRE APPARATUS IS TAKING SHAPE!‼️

While in Bradenton, Florida, at the Pierce Mfg plant conducting the post-delivery inspection of the remaining tankers, members of the Hood County Fire Departments had the opportunity to see something just as exciting—the beginning stages of assembly on all five of Hood County’s new 2,000-gallon Pierce Saber Pumpers!

These five apparatus will soon make their way home to Hood County and will be assigned to:

DCBE-Acton VFD
Indian Harbor Volunteer Fire Department
Lipan Volunteer Fire Department
Pecan Plantation EMS & VFD
Tolar Volunteer Fire Department

These pumpers represent a major investment in the future of fire protection across Hood County. They will begin the replacement of the county-owned E-One pumpers purchased back in 2001—apparatus that have faithfully served our communities for more than two decades.

Unlike some of the other county pumpers, these department’s did not previously receive a refurbishment on their pumpers. This acquisition will provide these departments with modern, capable, and dependable apparatus designed to serve our communities for years to come.

This project is much more than the purchase of five fire trucks. It is an investment in the men and women who answer the call—and in the citizens they serve.

We cannot thank Russell Mabra and Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, the Hood County Fire Marshal's Office, the Hood County Commissioners Court, and, most importantly, the citizens of Hood County enough for making this possible.

This investment in the volunteer fire service is an investment in your neighbors, your families, your homes, and the safety of our entire community. We are proud to put these resources into the hands of the firefighters who will stand ready to respond when the call comes.

We are excited to announce that the last two of five new Pierce Mfg 3,000-Gallon BXT Tankers have successfully completed their post-build inspections in Bradenton, FL!

The last two apparatus are:
• Indian Harbor Volunteer Fire Department - Tanker 50
• Lipan Volunteer Fire Department - Tanker 60

Over the next several weeks, each tanker will undergo a series of minor corrections identified during the inspection process before being transported to North Texas. Once they arrive, they will be delivered to their respective departments, where crews will begin the final phase of preparation—installing equipment, mounting tools, training personnel, and placing these apparatus into frontline service.

These tankers represent a significant investment in the safety of our firefighters and the citizens of Hood County. Once in service, they will greatly enhance our ability to provide reliable water supply operations and improve emergency response throughout the county.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Russell Mabra and Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, the Hood County Fire Marshal's Office, the Hood County Commissioners Court, and, most importantly, the citizens of Hood County. Your continued support and commitment have made this project possible and will help ensure our volunteer fire departments are better equipped to protect our communities for years to come.

🚨 7-DAY EMERGENCY BURN BAN — HOOD COUNTY 🚨

During the regularly scheduled August 11th Hood County Commissioners Court meeting, the Hood County Fire Marshal's Office requested a 7-day Emergency Burn Ban due to increasing wildfire concerns and continued dry conditions across the county.

🔥 Wildfire conditions are rapidly becoming more dangerous. With dry fuels, hot temperatures, and limited moisture, even a small fire can quickly become a serious incident.

We are asking everyone in our community to do their part:

🚫 Please refrain from all outdoor burning.
🔥 Do not burn trash, brush, or debris.
🌡️ Be especially cautious during the excessive heat.
🚒 Help us keep our firefighters out of unnecessary and preventable fires.

Our firefighters are ready to respond when you need us — but preventing a fire is always better than fighting one.

Please take this burn ban seriously, stay safe, stay hydrated, and help us protect Hood County and our surrounding communities.

One spark is all it takes.

Members of 2 Hood County Fire Departments are headed to Bradenton FL to the Pierce Mfg plant for final inspections on the final 2 of the 5 3000 Gallon BXT Tankers. We look forward to delivery of these critical assets to help protect and serve Hood County and its citizens for years to come.

🚨🔥 TANKER 26 HAS ARRIVED AT STATION 20! 🔥🚨

The wait is over. Tanker 26 has officially arrived at its new home with North Hood County VFD – Station 20! 🚒💨

This Pierce Mfg 3,000-Gallon BXT Tanker is more than just a new truck — it’s another tool in our toolbox and a major addition to our ability to protect the citizens of Hood County and our surrounding communities.

When the call comes and there’s no hydrant nearby, water becomes the mission. Tanker 26 will give our crews the ability to move a significant water supply where it’s needed most and keep operations moving when seconds — and gallons — count.

Now the real work begins.

We’ll be getting Tanker 26 outfitted, equipment loaded, and our crews trained and ready to put this beast to work.

New truck. Bigger capability. Same mission.
