The MiSide Detroit staff brought great energy to our Active Shooter and Emergency Response Training. We were especially proud to hear such overwhelmingly positive feedback in their evaluations.

Thank you to the entire MiSide team for trusting Allied Defense to be part of your emergency preparedness efforts. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership and working with your other facilities in the near future!

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

Today we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the incredible courage of the first responders and everyday Americans who ran toward danger to help others.

25 years later, we remember the sacrifice. We remember the courage. We remember how our country came together.

May we continue to honor their memory through unity, service, and gratitude.

Training that prepares your team to respond when every second counts.

Allied Defense was proud to spend the day with the staff from both campuses of Cole Academy in Lansing, Michigan, providing a full day of hands-on emergency response training.

During the morning session, staff participated in our interactive Active Shooter Response Training, focusing on practical decision-making, communication, and actions that can help save lives during a critical incident.

In the afternoon, the training continued as staff members received CPR/AED training and certification, giving them additional skills and confidence to respond to a medical emergency when immediate action matters most.

A huge thank you to Cole Academy for a 6 year partnership and investing in the safety of your staff and students. We appreciate the opportunity to train with your entire team!

If your school, business, or organization, is looking for Active Shooter Response Training in-person or online, Allied Defense is ready to help.

Communication saves lives.

In any crisis, information is one of the most powerful tools you have.

If it is safe to do so, communicate where the threat is and what the threat is doing. Clear, accurate updates allow others to make informed decisions, avoid danger, and take life-saving action.

Simple information like:
➡️ "They're moving toward the cafeteria."

can give others the critical seconds they need to escape, secure themselves, or prepare to respond.

Communication is a force multiplier that can increase everyone's chance of survival.

Train today so you're prepared tomorrow.

Recent events including the incident at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills are a reminder that personal awareness matters. While we can't predict every situation, we can prepare for them.

👀 KNOW YOUR EXITS BEFORE YOU NEED THEM.

Take a moment to identify exits whenever you enter a public place. Stay aware. Trust your instincts. Leave early if something doesn't feel right..

Don't freeze - make a decision.

During an active violence incident, indecision can be your greatest enemy. The people who survive are often those who quickly recognize the threat and take DECISIVE action.

At Allied Defense Training, we teach the ALLIED response:
D = Decisive Action

Preparation builds confidence. The more you train before an emergency, the more likely you are to respond effectively under stress.

ACTIVE SHOOTER SAFETY TIP
Know Two Ways Out

In an active shooter event, seconds matter. One of the most important things you can do is identify at least two escape routes whenever you enter a building. Whether you're at work, school, church, or in Detroit Metro Airport like this, take a moment to locate the nearest exits and think about how you would leave if an emergency occurred.

When people are under extreme stress, they often experience tunnel vision and may freeze or follow the crowd. Having a plan in mind before an incident occurs helps you react more quickly and make better decisions. If you can safely escape, do so immediately and encourage others to come with you.

Preparation doesn't take much time, but it can make all the difference when every second counts.

At Allied Defense, we spend a lot of time training decisive actions and protecting others through communication. On September 28, 2025, Officer Carpentier and Conservation Officer Robare demonstrated exactly what those principles look like in real life.

We are proud to congratulate our colleague, Officer Carpentier and Conservation Officer Robare on receiving the prestigious Ron Helus Spartan Valor Award for their extraordinary bravery during the attack at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their actions exemplified the highest standards of courage and selfless service in the face of danger.

Please join us in congratulating them on this well-deserved honor.

This week our team attended the North American Active Assailant Conference to learn from events around the country, first responders, and those with real-world experience responding to active assailant events.

The insights and lessons shared will help us continue providing responsible, relevant, and effective training to the people we serve.

We’re excited to bring this knowledge and the stories back to our trainings!
