Congrats to these two amazing bosses. 💜 Love you guys for all the hours of training, planning, and work you put into every event to lead all of us with the tools we need.

So much goes into our safety commitments at Fair... Training. Emergency plans. Collaboration with outside partners. Hypotheticals and emergency situation simulations.

Behind many of these efforts are two pillars that guide and support the State Fair in numerous ways year over year. Mark and Sharon Dreher of Double Locked Security work tirelessly to ensure guest, livestock and staff safety are prioritized during each of our events.

The Ed Meedel Challenge Coin Award exists to recognize those who go above and beyond to make our Fair the best it can be. Those who demonstrate the same values we pride ourselves on: integrity, honesty, humility, customer service and public service.

Congratulations to Mark and Sharon for being a State Fair challenge coin recipient! Thank you for all that you do to make the Nebraska State Fair and Aksarben Stock Show the best (and safest) they can be!

So proud of our staff and these guys for quick thinking and amazing response.

On Aug. 29, three members of our security team responded to a medical emergency on the fairgrounds where an individual was choking. The incident required swift action and immediate resuscitation.

Today, the Nebraska State Fair recognized Derek Bosler (Stanton County), Larry Lucas (Hall County) and Donovan Fowler (Hall County) with a Lifesaver Award for their heroic response, teamwork, and lifesaving care.

Deputy Bosler recently stopped in to see the individual whose life he helped save and we are glad to report she has recovered from the incident and is doing well!

We are thankful for the dedicated public safety professionals who join our Fair team and ensure our event remains a safe and welcoming place for all. Please join us in thanking Deputies Bosler, Fowler and Lucas on a job well done! 👏
