Front Door Dental can now provide interim therapeutic restorations (ITR's)! This patient went 8 months with a gaping hole that made it painful to chew on the right side. Not anymore!!!! This restoration is by no means perfect, open contacts and no anatomy.The idea is to hold the space until the patient can have a permanent filling at a dentist with filled composite. This is a resin reinforced glass ionomer and is not able to pack down like filled composite. It's like working with thick soup. Not easy by any mean. One down, many many more to go to try and save teeth!

This guidance expands visitation opportunities, and outlines the requirements for indoor visitation in residential care facilities serving older adults and people with disabilities. Dental Hygienists are NOT included on the Service Providers list which means we could be singled out. In the comments section at the bottom consider writing, "Please add dental hygienists to your list of service providers" so that we do not miss our opportunity to provide preventative oral health to these vulnerable individuals.

A new interim policy from the American Dental Association (ADA) states dentistry is an “essential health care service”, reaffirming that oral health has long been recognized as an integral part of overall health.
