Something big is coming to Western Colorado’s entrepreneurial community.

This October, the Business Incubator Center is bringing entrepreneurs, business leaders, innovators and community partners together for the first **Entrepreneur Exchange 2026 | EN/EX26**.

We packed the house when we kicked off our 40th anniversary in June and on October 16, we’re bringing the community together again, this time to celebrate entrepreneurship, exchange ideas, make meaningful connections and look toward what’s next.

APEX Day at the BIC gave local businesses a clearer understanding of how government contracting actually works.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and especially to Colorado APEX Accelerator and our speakers Dalida Sassoon Bollig, Don Metzler, Kent Marsh, Rebecca Schowalter and Jay Valentine for sharing their time and expertise.

Attendees learned how the solicitation process works for the City of Grand Junction, Colorado Mesa University and the U.S. Forest Service, including:

• How agencies choose vendors
• The differences between bids, RFPs and qualifications-based requests
• Why the lowest price is not always the deciding factor
• How to respond properly to solicitations
• Why timeliness and following instructions matter
• The wide range of products and services public agencies purchase

One of the biggest takeaways: government is a customer and understanding how that customer buys is the first step toward doing business with it.

Happy Workiversary this month, Glenn!

Glenn has been part of the BIC team since 2016, and for the past 10 YEARS, he has been an invaluable part of keeping our campus running smoothly.

As our Maintenance Assistant and resident handyman of all things BIC, Glenn helps keep our grounds, landscaping, equipment, and countless projects in great shape. On any given day, you might find him fixing something, helping with a campus project, working outside, or driving the forklift across campus to lend a hand to one of the 110+ businesses that call BIC home.

Glenn is always willing to jump in wherever he is needed, and he does it with a smile and a cheerful attitude that make him a valued part of our team and our campus community.

Thank you, Glenn, for 10 years of hard work, dependability, and everything you do to keep the BIC moving. We are grateful to have you on the team!
