🔧 Signs of a Bad Wheel Bearing (Don’t Ignore This!)

A bad wheel bearing can sneak up on you, but there are a few clear signs to watch for.

The most common symptom is a humming or growling noise that gets louder as you drive faster. It may sound like tire noise at first, but it usually keeps getting worse over time.

You might also notice:
• Noise changes when turning left or right
• A grinding or rough sound while driving

Customer complaint: 2010 Ford Fusion – no start condition.
Fuel injector fuse kept blowing, but injectors tested good and fuel delivery was solid. After tracing the circuit, we found battery voltage backfeeding through the PCM harness.

Pulled the harness back and discovered three wires shorted together near the PCM. Repaired all three wires, replaced the blown fuse, and the car fired right up ✅

This 2010 Chevy Equinox 2.4L running rough and throwing timing-related codes.
After diagnosis, I found the timing chain was stretched and the balance shaft timing was off — causing poor performance and misfires.

We replaced the full timing chain set, balance shaft chain, and seals, and got this customer back on the road running smooth again.

Customer came in with a dead misfire on cylinder 5 and a fuel injector circuit code. Another shop might’ve told them to replace all the injectors 💸… but after some careful troubleshooting, I tracked the issue down to a single broken wire.
