As an office manager for a growing lesson barn, SOP's have been SO beneficial for myself, our office assistant, and the entire team to stay on the same page and be efficient.

So, I bet you can imagine that implementing SOPs into my own business, even thought it's just me, has also been extremely helpful to make the best use of my limited time.

Ok, what are these uber helpful SOPs exactly? SOP stands for Standard Operating Procedure, and these are basically step by step instructions on how tasks should get done!

These are best created and implemented for repetitive tasks, but can also come in handy for projects, potential conflict, and more! You can create an SOP for just about anything that happens continuously in your business.

And you don't have to wait until you have a team to create these! As someone with suspected ADHD, having SOPs for myself when I sit down to work helps keep me on track and actually get things done (instead of browsing for horses and farms I can't afford yetšŸ˜‰)

Can you believe we are just about 3 months into the year?? I feel like March is always the first month of the year that goes by fast for me, and the rest just keep on flying from here!

Not gonna lie... I didn't even realize March ended this week until today! Thankfully I had this post idea planned out, so it was great reminderšŸ˜‚

We both know how much time you spend on emails...

This is something I hear and see coming up as an issue OFTEN.

"I could spend hours on emails a day"
"I spend my whole morning responding to emails"

Sound familiar? I hear ya!!

As office manager at my FT job, I sort emails for both owners and myself. We have easy system that allows us to visually see which email goes to who super quick. But, the more time-saving system we use? Automating responses using templates.

We have lots of templates for commonly asked questions about certain programs and services, registrations and purchasing, and more. And while this isn't a full "automation", it automates our long, thought out, and informational responses.

All we have to do is click a couple of buttons to pull up the correct template, adjust a few points if needed, and hit send.

Whereas previously, we would spend 5-10 minutes several times a day answering the very same question because we had no saved response. Now, it takes 1-2 minutes instead!

Take into account that there's a handful of questions (not just one) that are over and over. Doing estimated math, you could be saving 1-3 hours a week just by pre-writing responses within templates!!

Here's the common denominator I've found in my successful mentors and inspirations...

They have always had an unwavering belief in their ability to succeed.

They didn't always know HOW it would happen or what the path would look like. But, they knew they needed their businesses to succeed, and they believed they could make that happen.

Do you know who you're talking to?

I'm sure you've heard the saying - If you don't know who you're talking to then you're talking to no one.

And it's true! If you don't have a person (either theoretical or literal) in mind when you're creating content, then it's hard to zone in. And most likely you end up being very general and not really speaking to anyone in particular.

Take it from me. When I first started my business I didn't narrow down my ICP. I was just posting and didn't really know who I was posting for. Captions and really coming up with content in general was so hard.

Since then, I've created a couple ICPs based on my services. I know who my services help and how it helps you, so I'm able to speak directly to you rather than to the great abyss.

Each time I sit down to create content, I literally pull out my social media strategy which includes my ICP and read through it. When writing captions or creating graphics, I can imagine I'm simply on a call with you and explain things directly in ways that help.

Do you have an ICP? If not, take some time this week to go through these 3 components and create on for your business.
