Our firm is lead by Edward Kolakowski, a retired 28-year law enforcement veteran. Before founding Shield, Ed spent 15 years in the Kent County Sheriff detective bureau where is investigated crimes such as homicides, sexual abuse, fraud and much more.

He has served as a school resource officer for the Kent ISD, where he also worked as a Criminal Justice classroom instructor. Ed also has extensive training as a certified hostage negotiator, active shooter instructor and child forensic interviewer.
