Michigan employers, this one's for you (and it's important)! Now is the time to prepare for the next phase of the state's transition to its new unemployment insurance system - MiUI. As a reminder, this new system will replace the Michigan Web Account Manager this fall.

While the state already moved unemployment insurance functions to MiUI, on November 9, benefit functions will move to the new system as well. Once this transition is complete, employers will use MiUI for all unemployment insurance functions.

Here's your checklist to make sure you're MiUI ready before November 9:
• Make sure your MiUI employer account is activated
• Confirm need-to-know staff have access and their logins are working
• Make sure your third party administrator or payroll partner has access to your MiUI account
• Prepare ahead of time for the system downtime in the days leading up to the November 9 launch
