Hey friends!
We're the owners of Lilith's Lair GR! You probably already know Lore, but my name is Cy!
You may have heard of us, but maybe not!
We are Grand Rapid's #1 Salon two years in a row!
We're not just a salon though, we offer nail services, massages, facials, beauty tattooing, and regular tattooing as well!
Lilith's Lair GR was started in 2021 with one simple idea... We wanted to build a space where our staff's equity and the ability to succeed are at the forefront of what we do.
Long story short, we just wanted to offer an awesome place to work.
We're definitely different.. when you walk in we have a massive rainbow wall and you'll probably hear some metal music, or even anime theme songs playing throughout the space! We sell local Michigan Made art, and host events in our space twice a year.
Back to our staff - what makes us unique?
We are a Booth Rental model. What is that?
Our staff pays us a flat fee for access to our space. This enables them to effectively run their own business within our walls. We help them set up their own LLCs, take advantage of their own tax benefits, and basically earn as much income as they can generate.
There are other salons and suites that operate on this framework, but we're different in the sense that we provide you financial literacy classes, help you start your business, and even generate some business for you via our high traffic website.
Booth Rental isn't for everyone, but that said, we have staff that are earning more money now than I ever made working a corporate job.
Also, this isn't a dog-eat-dog place. We all support one another, we all laugh and hang out, and we try to assist one another when we can. It's less of a place of work, and more of a collaborative "Makers Space"
We strive to always put our staff first, and even though we as owners make mistakes sometimes, we try to always ensure that our staff has the tools they need to succeed.
Things are so different here that most of the time when someone books with our staff they either choose that particular person because of their speciality, or simply because of their personality that we purposely showcase on our website. Everything we do is about supporting the individual.
So, it's been a long journey to get here. None of it would have been possible if it wasn't for the amazing staff we've managed to acquire. They are truly the life blood of Lilith's Lair GR, and they represent everything we stand for. Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity aren't just words here.. it's represented in everything we do.
End of the day, Lilith's Lair GR is the largest collective of like minded entrepreneurs who believe in each other and our community. It's been amazing to meet every single of them, and help them be who they want to be.
Now that the story is over -
We are hiring Hair Stylists.
We charge a flat weekly or monthly fee and in return you receive:
A Chair, A Station, and Massive Amounts of Storage.
1 week Sick time, 1 week Vacation time, and 3 months of new parent leave.
Your first month of renting is FREE, so you can make sure it's a good fit for you.
We pay you a 30% commission on the Sales Price of our products.
We offer an extensive back bar of amazing brands like Surface and Amika.
We help you set up your own LLC, can teach you how to operate your business, and even show you how to prepare for your future regarding things like purchasing a home and retirement.
You get to make your own schedule, your own prices, and you also get to choose to specialize in anything you want!
On top of that, much like other Booth Rental places you'll be responsible for bringing your own clients, but through our website you'll certainly get bookings. We also do a Walk In Wednesday that has been steadily gaining traction!
Other than that, we also offer goofy other things like the ability to attend West Michigan Pride events at no cost to the staff, but they get to earn money just by working it! We offer snacks and light lunches that are up for grabs anytime you're working. I'm certain there's more, but I'm forgetting things.
Anyway, if you're tired of being treated as just a "hair stylist" and not the "Tradesperson" or "Professional" you truly are then let's chat.
