Over the weekend, Kalamazoo areas were under a "Boil Water Advisory"
What to do:
A BWA may include information on how to prepare food, precautions for cleaning and how to handle your own hygiene with water. Some activities may require boiled water and some may not. The notice will direct you. These notices will also confirm when concerns will be lifted. Don’t forget, during these times, always keep your furry friends in mind!
Once The Boil Alert Is Lifted
Manually regenerate your water softener for 1 cycle to clear your water lines. If an actual contamination was confirmed, schedule a sanitization of your water softeners, drinking water systems, and other water treatment units.
Do not put water systems back in service until they have been sanitized.
Run a sanitizing cycle on water-using appliances like your dishwasher, coffee maker, tea kettles, and more.
