We’re proud to be part of conversations that are shaping the future of workforce quality and sustainability.

Our own, Matthew Wehrmeyer, summed it up best: “It was an honor and privilege to be surrounded by such dedicated professionals and community members while learning more about the impact of The SOURCE and the meaningful difference they are making in employees’ lives. Their work reinforces that employee retention and engagement improve significantly when organizations address whole-person barriers such as transportation, housing, and financial stress.”

Earlier this month, our team members, Jay Dunwell and Matthew Wehrmeyer, were honored to join Rep. Hillary Scholten for a roundtable discussion on the Tri-Share Child Care program and what accessible, affordable child care means for local businesses, employees, and our community as a whole.

Tri-Share is a Michigan-based model that shares childcare costs between employers, employees, and the state, helping working families stay in the workforce while supporting employers with attraction and retention. Programs like this demonstrate how collaborative solutions can make a real, measurable impact.

We also appreciate Rep. Scholten’s leadership and advocacy around the proposed Child Care Act of 2025, a package of federal initiatives aimed at expanding access to affordable, high-quality child care and strengthening workforce participation nationwide.

Thank you to Rep. Scholten for the opportunity to share perspective, listen, and contribute to an important conversation that affects our employees, our industry, and our region.
