Students in the Security and Protective Services program at Gerald R. Ford Job Corps Center had the chance this past week to sharpen an important skill they’ll carry with them throughout their careers: the job interview.
Members of the Grey Dog Security executive team spent time on campus conducting mock interviews with students in the program. Instead of practicing with instructors or classmates, these students were able to sit down with C-Suite and Director-level professionals and experience what a real interview can feel like. It created an opportunity for them to practice answering tough questions, presenting themselves professionally, and receiving feedback that can help them succeed when the real opportunity comes along.
Job Corps is a nationwide program that helps young people ages 16–24 build skills, complete their education, and prepare for meaningful careers. Through hands-on training in fields like security, construction, healthcare, and technology, students gain both the technical skills and professional development needed to enter the workforce with confidence.
The students we met showed a strong desire to build careers. We were honored to spend time with them, share our perspective from the industry, and help them take another step toward their future.
Opportunities like this help build safer, stronger communities by preparing the next generation of professionals who will help protect them.
At Grey Dog Security, we believe in investing in people and giving back to the communities we serve, because being Always On Point isn’t just about the job we do today, it’s about helping prepare those who will do it tomorrow.
