We still need more signatures. The vet board of Texas is trying to shut down all complimentary services if not done by a vet or under their supervision. This means Osteopathy, chiropractic, massage, pemf, homeopathy, all of it. There are not enough vets to meet the demand which will cause the cost of these services to skyrocket and availability of these services to be severely limited if not cease altogether. This also eliminates the owners right to choose who can work on their animals and what services. Yes, I do believe some regulation needs to happen but I believe that it needs to come from within the fields, not the vet board. Many modalities, such as Osteopathy, have their own governing body already established (this is why I send people to redointernational.org to find an EDO near them). That's how it should be. We need the publics help fight these changes. There is a meeting on the 21st of this month in Austin regarding this issue. In the meantime, there is a petition going around to stop the overreach from being passed. Please sign it and tell all your friends. This isn't only for horses. This will affect ALL animals. So, for my dog folks, this will affect you also. Please help us stop this nonsense and encourage the fields to regulate themselves.
Keep in mind, I work with vets regularly. This is NOT your veterinarian causing this. Some may be in support of it for whatever reason but several have spoken out against it also. Don't come at them because of this. This is the Vet BOARD doing this. We need to fight back. Always support your veterinarian. They work hard for you and are desperately needed. But also please support your truly educated, responsible non-vet bodyworkers. We serve a purpose and fill the gap where needed with skills and knowledge they aren't taught in school and simply don't have time for. It needs to be a symbiotic relationship, not a dictatorship.
This is the petition to fight the vet board changes if you're willing to sign it and share it.
