EXTREME HEAT
Heat-related emergencies happen when the body gets too hot and fails to cool itself down properly.
Types and Signs of Heat Related Illness
- Heat Cramps: Painful muscle spasms, usually in the legs or abdomen, with normal body temperature.
- Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, cold and pale skin, fast pulse, dizziness, headache, and nausea.
- Heat Stroke: A life-threatening emergency marked by a body temperature over 103°F, confusion, hot and dry skin, or loss of consciousness
Call 911 right away if you or anyone you know may be experiencing a heat related emergency.
