We’re so sorry, but unfortunately we won’t be able to hand out candy on Halloween this year. We truly love seeing all of the little ghosts, goblins, princesses, superheroes, and creative costumes throughout our community, and we’ll definitely miss being part of the fun! Thank you for understanding, and we hope everyone has a safe, happy, and spooktacular Halloween filled with lots of fun and sweet memories! We hope to see you all next year! 🎃👻🧡

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month—a time to spread awareness, encourage early detection, support those facing breast cancer, and honor the survivors and loved ones we have lost. 💗 About 1 in 8 women (roughly 13%) in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime. Let’s stand together with strength, compassion, and hope while supporting research and working toward a future where fewer families are affected by this disease. Together, we are stronger. 🎀💗

Health experts recommend annual mammograms starting at age 40 for women at average risk. Practice monthly self-exams and report any persistent changes to a doctor.

👻 Get ready for a spooky good time! 🎃
The City of Owens Cross Roads is excited to host our annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat Drive-Thru on Saturday, October 31st.
Join us for a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (or until the candy runs out!). City Hall employees, along with our Police and Fire Departments, will be ready to hand out candy as you drive by.
Just follow the signs around the City Hall building and stay in your vehicle. We can't wait to see all your amazing costumes!

Last night Hebron Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for a tree blocking the roadway on Shirt Tail Bend. Upon arrival, it was noted that multiple trees were down causing complete road blockage. Firefighters along with District 2 cleared the roadway.

This evening Hebron Volunteer Fire Department, alongside Grant Fire & Rescue and Swearengin Volunteer Fire Department, conducted a mutual aid training on entry, search and rescue, and ladder operations.

Firefighter training is essential to keeping crews prepared, confident, and safe when responding to emergencies. Training in entry techniques, search and rescue, and ladder operations helps firefighters work together effectively, navigate dangerous environments, locate and assist victims, and safely access buildings. Through hands-on practice, teamwork, communication, and repetition, firefighters build the skills needed to respond quickly and efficiently when every second matters.
