FALL WEATHER RETURNING❓🍂🌧️ ❄️a gradual pattern change is looking increasingly likely across Washington and Oregon late next week into next weekend! After mostly dry weather through this upcoming Thursday, a storm system and cold front approaching from the northwest looks to bring cooler temperatures, increasing rain chances, some mountain snow, and gusty winds.

For western Washington, rain chances increase Friday into Saturday, although current guidance generally favors light amounts. The more noticeable change could be the temperature drop, with lowland highs falling into the upper 50s to lower 60s by Saturday. Across southwest Washington and northwest Oregon, the warm, dry pattern could give way to more seasonable temperatures and rain sometime Friday into Saturday. Farther south in Oregon, confidence is stronger in a significant cooldown than in meaningful rainfall, with shower chances still relatively low.

East of the Cascades, cooler weather and increasing west winds are also possible. Showers would favor the mountains, with lower chances across the Columbia Basin. Parts of central Washington could see gusts around 25-35 mph Friday, though wind strength and timing will need refining.

It’s possible this opens the door to storm systems dropping in beyond this period. Many systems look to dive in from the northwest so precipitation doesn’t necessarily look heavy at this time. So, while the signal for a cooler, more unsettled pattern is growing, the timing, rain and snow coverage and amounts are still uncertain❓🍂🌧️ ❄️
