"We are sad to announce the passing of Lee Wright, General Manager of Data Shredding Services of Texas, Inc. and Co-Owner/Partner of EZ Tippers Manufacturing, LLC on Friday, August 9, 2024, after a courageous 8-month battle with kidney/bone cancer. Lee was a hardworking, dedicated, principled individual who was totally committed to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, friends and his profession. He made everyone around him better, and will be greatly missed”….Shafer Gabrel, Data Shredding Services of Texas Inc., EZ Tippers Manufacturing, LLC.
Lee was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1965 and moved to Texas during his teenage years. In 1983, he married his wife, Tammy, and they joyfully celebrated their 40th anniversary this past December. Together, they raised two daughters, Amber Chavez from Spring, TX, and Sarah Elam from Cleburne, TX. Lee was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pappy." Lee and Tammy resided in Cleburne, Tx until his passing where he loved to sit on the back porch with Tammy in the mornings while listening to the beautiful sounds of nature.
Lee began his career in the shredding industry in 2004, starting as a driver for Westex Document Inc. in Lubbock, TX. Through hard work and dedication, he rose to the position of Operations Manager before leaving in 2008. That same year, he and his family relocated to Georgetown, TX, where he founded his own shredding company, Wright Shredding. In 2009, Lee merged his company with another, creating RW Lonestar Shredding based in Temple, TX. After leaving RW Lonestar in 2010, Lee joined Data Shredding Services of Texas, Inc., starting in the Dallas office. In 2012, when he and Tammy moved to Spring, TX, he transitioned to the Houston Corporate office, taking on the role of General Manager, a position he held until his passing on August 9th.
In addition to his work at Data Shredding, Lee and his partners launched EZ Tippers Manufacturing in 2019, beginning with the release of the Model 2019A. EZ Tippers was Lee's heart and soul and he strongly believed companies across the country could benefit from an EZ Tipper in their daily operations to increase production and efficiency. Lee was very passionate and dedicated to helping other shredding companies, whether they were just starting out or struggling with their operations to improve their organization. He always made time to offer his guidance, sharing his 20+ years of industry knowledge, wisdom, and expertise to improving others and the document shredding industry.
In memory of Lee, the family requests that any donations be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in Amarillo, TX. where he and Tammy worked from 1999-2004.
