I got a call from a very emotional customer that was told her Black Walnut Tree had to come down. It was showing signs of it dying. The tree was so massive that it became a safety concern. She told me that the arborist gave her my name if she wanted to see her tree get a second life rather than it go to waste. I teamed up with Jess Brown with (Brown and the boys tree service LLC) they have all the BIG TOYS to remove massive trees like these in residential area’s. The customer was told that this was recorded as one of the biggest trees in North West Arkansas. I am currently doing research to see if that is recorded. If that is the case we will be tagging each piece and documenting the process! If you want to be put on the list for one of these rare slabs to be turned into a table send me a DM. These will air dry for at least one year before placing into our state of the art high performance IDRY Wood vacuum kiln 🔥

From Corporate to Country!
My name is Jake Latvala born June 8, 1981. Until a couple of years ago I was a father of two kids and husband who had barely graduated High School in Redding California but was given an opportunity and I was able to capitalize on it.
I had started working for when I was 18 years old and was 37 when I decided to quit. Moved to Arkansas with the company. Worked my way up to a management position in the Distribution Centers. Took notes on all the leadership classes that they offered and applied the same strategies to my business today!

Today, I am Ol Loggin Sawmill!
I am surrounded by woodworkers, Artists and Content Creators just like me and have found a way to connect through Social Media!
We are not perfect but we want our craft to be. We support each other, we learn off one another, we teach, we entertain and we create! The piece itself is not the art. The art is how the piece is made and how we tell the story along the way.

Had the propane on to high 😳😅🔥

I had a customer call me about Milling a big Cherry log and a walnut log that fell on his property and he wants us to make different projects out of them. He ended up with about 15 slabs at 3” thick and this custom propane fireplace is the first project. This is just one massive cherry slab that was 10’ long and 33” wide. The top of this fireplace is 56” long and 33” wide which was the bottom of the slab. We Fractal Burned the top and the door using a Transformer that is highly dangerous and not recommended. The rest of the slab is where we built the base which is a solid 36” long and 24” wide. I CNC the tree of life on the side and added the grill marks for an added decorative touch which also adds ventilation. For the corners I used 2x3” walnut from one of his slabs. So for this project all together we only used 1.5 slabs out of his 15.
