Grayslake Business Breakfast Group is comprised of area businesses serving homes and businesses in Grayslake and surrounding areas

Grayslake Business Breakfast Group was founded in March 2002 by several long-time business associates. GBBG was established as a non-profit business networking organization with members located in Grayslake and surrounding communities. GBBG's mission is to facilitate an environment for successful relationship networking. Solid, long term business relationships develop when GBBG's shared networking

objective creates quality business opportunities for its members. Building mutual confidence as a result of positive customer experiences is the recipe for success. GBBG averages about 25 members and allows only one member per business category. Regular Tuesday meetings are structured in an informal relaxed manner with a consistent agenda that starts promptly at 7:15 AM and concludes on time at 8:45 AM. Members employ pre and post meeting time for informal networking and "catching up".

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from the Grayslake Business Breakfast Group! 🇺🇸

As we celebrate Labor Day, we wanted to share a few interesting facts about the holiday and the hardworking Americans it honors:

🔨 Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894, when President Grover Cleveland signed it into law.

🇺🇸 The first Labor Day celebration was held in New York City in 1882, with thousands of workers participating in a parade.

💼 Labor Day was created to recognize the contributions and achievements of American workers and the role they have played in building and strengthening our country.

🛠️ More than just the unofficial end of summer, Labor Day is an opportunity to appreciate the entrepreneurs, employees, tradespeople, professionals, first responders, small-business owners, and countless others who keep our communities moving forward.

And speaking of taking a well-deserved break…

Grayslake History Edition

Did you know that Grayslake was one of Illinois’ fastest-growing communities during the 1990s?

At the beginning of the decade, Grayslake had a population of roughly 7,400 residents. By 2000, that number had exploded to more than 18,500, an increase of nearly 150% in just 10 years! 🤯

New neighborhoods, businesses, schools and families transformed the village during this incredible period of growth, helping shape much of the Grayslake we know today.

As the Grayslake Business Breakfast Group (GBBG), we’re proud to be part of a community that has continued to grow while maintaining the small-town connections and local-business spirit that make Grayslake special. ❤️

Did you know the Lake County Fair wasn’t always held in Grayslake?

The Fair’s history dates all the way back to 1851, and over the years it moved between several Lake County communities before finally finding its permanent home right here in Grayslake in 1954! 🎠

That means Grayslake has been part of the Lake County Fair tradition for more than 70 years, welcoming generations of families for livestock shows, competitions, carnival rides, food, entertainment, and plenty of great memories.

As the Grayslake Business Breakfast Group (GBBG), we love sharing these little pieces of history that remind us how much our community has grown while still holding onto the traditions that bring people together.

Grayslake History Edition

Did you know there was once a time when you might have needed a rowboat to get around Grayslake? 😲

During the historic 1938 flood, Grayslake experienced significant flooding, and residents reportedly used rowboats to travel through village streets!

It’s hard to imagine looking at our community today, but stories like this are a great reminder of just how much Grayslake has changed, and how generations of residents have adapted, rebuilt, and continued moving our village forward.

As members of the Grayslake Business Breakfast Group, we love sharing some of the lesser-known stories that make our hometown so unique.
