We’re not graduating an unqualified workforce. We’re graduating people who were never taught how to interview.

This week = mock interviews, real feedback, and a crash course in:
• STAR method (because “I helped” isn’t an answer)
• Elevator pitches that don’t sound like a robot wrote them

And just like that, the student's confidence changed.

Not because they gained experience.
Because they finally knew how to talk about it.

“Tell me about yourself” shouldn’t be the first time
someone tries to figure out their story.

This week in Fort Morgan and Brush, I partnered with Morgan County Economic Development Corporation to run mock interviews with students.

We focused on:
• Building a clear elevator pitch
• Translating what they’ve done into actual value
• Learning how to walk into a conversation prepared, not guessing.

Because most people don’t learn how to do this until after a few awkward interviews…or missed opportunities.

Clarity. Confidence. Ownership of their story.

And you can see the shift almost immediately,
when someone realizes they actually have something worth saying.

If we want stronger workforces, better retention, and people who show up ready. This is where it starts.
