Did you know?

There was a dinosaur discovered in Niger, believed to have been there around 115 to 105 million years ago. It was named Nigersaurus.

Here are some more facts about NIGER REPUBLIC . Residents of Niger are known as "Nigeriens

The official language is French. This is inherited from the colonial period and serves as an administrative language. The country has eight languages that are also classified as national languages.

Niger is considered one of the hottest nations. It is known as the “Frying Pan of the World.”

The capital of Niger is Niamey.

Niger borders seven countries. These include Libya to the North East, Chad to the East, Nigeria and Benin to the South and South West, Senegal and Mali to the West and Algeria to the North West.

The country is divided into seven regions with a single Principal District, the capital, Niamey.

Niger is home to the largest protected area in Africa. It covers around 7.7 million hectares.

Some Facts about Republic of Benin

✨ Benin was once called the Dahomey - it first acquired the name “Benin” in 1975.
✨The capital city of Benin is Porto-Novo but the largest city is Cotonou which is also home to the government.
✨ Unlike in most parts of the world, snakes in Benin are revered, particularly the Royal pythons. They even eat and sleep in people homes.
✨ The Temple of Pythons is home to 50 royal pythons. It measures 130 square feet.
✨ While other West African countries export oil and cocoa, Benin's largest export is cotton. It accounts for 80% of its exports.
✨ It is home to “The Venice of Africa”; a group of villages floating in a lake
✨ Angelique Kidjo, the famous artist who popularized African music in the West, hailed from Benin.
✨ When leaving or entering a room, it is considered respectful to shake everyone's hand.
✨ There is only one international airport in the country and it is located in Cotonou
