Sometimes you have to get down on their level… literally!

At Acceptional Minds, we believe learning happens best when we meet our clients where they are at. Whether that means sitting at a table, on the floor, or squatting down beside a favorite chair, we’re always ready to make learning engaging, comfortable, and fun!

Summer 2026 was one for the books!

From getting out into the community and trying new things to making new friends, building skills, playing games, and just having fun together, we sure had a good summer!

We laughed. We learned. We explored. We grew. And most importantly, we had fun being ourselves!

As we head into a new school year, we’re taking a moment to celebrate all the amazing moments that made this summer so special.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Summer 2026 so Acceptional!

Sometimes you just need to move!

Movement is an important part of the day, not just for physical health, but also for helping our clients get some energy out and reset.

One of our favorite ways to do this is with follow-along movement videos. Dancing, jumping, stretching, and copying the movements on the screen turns exercise into something fun!

With the end of summer here and school starting, transitions can be hard for a lot of people. New routines, new expectations, and big changes can bring BIG emotions.

Sometimes our emotions get big, and our bodies need a little help slowing down.

Try Flower Breathing!
Imagine you’re holding a beautiful flower and take a slow, deep breath in through your nose.
Then slowly breathe out through your mouth.
Repeat several times, taking slow and gentle breaths.

It’s simple, it can be done almost anywhere, and it gives our bodies a moment to pause and reset.

Remember: Big feelings are okay. Learning how to work through them is a skill.

We love finding the things our clients enjoy and turn them into opportunities to build skills!

One of our clients likes helping staff with their hair. He enjoys using the comb and brush and takes his job very seriously!

Sometimes the best learning opportunities come from simply following a client’s interests.

A Bluetooth headband may help someone feel comfortable and regulated.

This headband provides soft pressure while also playing music, giving our client some sensory input.

Sometimes it's all about finding what works for you!
