--Frosted Pecans--Ingredients• 5 cups of Altrusa pecan halves (1 lb bag)• 1/2 cup butter• 3 egg whites• 1/4t. salt• 1 cu...

--Frosted Pecans--

Ingredients
• 5 cups of Altrusa pecan halves (1 lb bag)
• 1/2 cup butter
• 3 egg whites
• 1/4t. salt
• 1 cup sugar

Preparation
1. Toast pecans in shallow pan at 300 until lightly browned
2. In a large cake pan or griddle, melt butter
3. Beat egg whites and salt until soft peak
4. Gradually add sugar
5. Fold in hot nuts
6. Spread over melted butter
7. Bake 40-50 minutes at 300, until light brown
8. Stir every 10 minutes
9. Cool on waxed paper
