Last week we posted a picture of a weird machined sheet and asked if anyone knew what it was. No one guessed correctly. They are ‘tail washers’ used as shims in hard to reach places like the control surface bearings. You can grab them with pliers or forceps to make an awkward frustrating job a little easier. We have them in .020,.032,and.063 thickness.

I stumbled across a really nice fuel filter and gascalator setup a few weeks back. It’s made by Aero Colum LLC. I was able to see one at Sun N Fun at the Faring’s Etc booth. I ordered one from Aero Colum and it arrived today. We will post pictures of how we are using it soon. I’m really impressed with it so far!

Some pics of the mold and the VT tip fresh out of mold. Came out pretty good for a first attempt. HT tip mold on the CNC now.

We are back from Sun N Fun , unloaded, and hard at work on the Cougar prototype. The aft end of the tail cone is riveted and the HT/VT mounting brackets are installed with final hardware. HT /VT next.
